On the other Hand...

since nothing has fallen over for ten minutes...

perhaps there's just time to show you Mr. Stripey Cat's leaving meal from last night.

We had an open tart of artichoke hearts and potatoes with a salad of mache.

and chocolate coated strawberries with some Bjorg soya cream.

Meals will be taken alone for the next three weeks.

You would be the one to ask...which French soya cream is best? I bought Sojasun when I was there the other day, but there was another brand too...can't remember, might have been the Champion brand.

I bought some once at Monoprix, but can't remember which brand it was. It was so good I was wondering if perhaps it wasn't actually soya cream!

Hi Kathy,

Actually I'm not keen on soya cream products at all and don't often use them. I chose this Bjorg version because the picture on the packet showed it being poured over a tomato and I hoped it would be appropriate for the savoury tart! Unfortunately it was too sweet for that and although it went nicely with the strawberries I think I'd still have preferred some Swedish Glace icecream with them. Bjorg is stocked by most of the major supermarkets so may have been the one you tried before.

Sojasun products are very good generally and some supermarkets are now doing their own brand versions. I have bought Carrefour soya cream before and at the moment am using up some soya milk from SuperU which is perfectly fine.

Thanks for the advice. The Sojasun was okay on my asparagus, but since I mixed it with other ingredients I'm not sure how it tasted plain.

I'm planning a trip to Normandy in June. I'll try to find some of the others then, and do a taste test!
